About the event
The subject of diversity is one that we are all aware of, and we frequently see how organisations respond with measures to create more inclusive environments for all irrespective of sexual orientation, ethnicity, physical or mental abilities or religion; often with establishment of affinity groups and other measures to promote fair representation and inclusivity.
However, does being highlighted as needing an affinity group (or not for that matter) impact us professionally – in terms of our goals, what we believe we can become or the behaviours we exhibit?
Does mere ‘membership’ mean that we discount certain options? Or does it ‘fire us up’ in our efforts to succeed?
Do we see these groups as enablers / accelerators that open up opportunities, or as limiters, where we feel the need to disregard them because we don’t believe they apply to us?
Delighted to welcome Nigel Lowe to open up the conversation…
